The correct operating sequence of the isolating switch

Prior to operating the isolating switch, it is important to ensure that the circuit breaker for the corresponding circuit has been turned off to avoid any risk of pulling and closing the isolating switch with a load. Taking this precautionary measure will help to ensure a safe and efficient operation.

To initiate the power transmission process after a stopped line, one must follow a strict sequence of actions where the isolation switch is pulled and closed first. Conversely, in case of a power failure, the circuit breaker should be pulled out first, followed by the line side isolating switch and bus side isolating switch, in that order. The rationale behind this approach is to limit the scope of any potential accidents resulting from manual error. By following the aforementioned steps, one can prevent such incidents from expanding to the bus, thereby reducing the risk of catastrophic outcomes.

No operation is permitted in the event of significant defects, such as severe harm to the insulator or the isolating switch's transmission rod, during operation. Be sure to maintain the original text's information while also creating a highly similar asset.

It is crucial for personnel on duty to thoroughly inspect the isolating switch when it is operated. This includes checking the opening and closing positions, synchronization conditions, and contact depth, among other items, phase by phase onsite. The primary objective is to verify that the isolating switch is functioning correctly, and the position is accurate.

It is recommended that the isolation switch be operated from the main control room. If remote control electrical operation is not available, manual or electric operation may be carried out on the site under the supervision of the station master or technical person in charge. However, their permission must be obtained before carrying out any operations. The on-site supervision is also required during the execution of the operations.

To prevent misoperation, there are electrical, electromagnetic and mechanical locking devices installed between the isolation switch, grounding switch and circuit breaker. When a switching operation needs to be performed, it must be done in a specific sequence. In the event where the locking device fails or the isolating switch and grounding switch are not functioning properly, it is paramount that the corresponding circuit breaker and switch position be checked to ensure everything is in order before the lock can be released for operation to proceed. This not only ensures safety but also guarantees efficiency during operations.
